Media advisory: Jaguar TCS Racing confirms GEN4 race car name: Jaguar I-Type 08

Pretoria, South Africa - 02 November 2026: Jaguar TCS Racing today confirms the name of its ABB FIA Formula E World Championship GEN4 race car: the Jaguar I-Type 08, which will compete from Season 2027 onwards.

The new name marks a subtle evolution of Jaguar TCS Racing's established racing nomenclature. From its 2016 debut challenger, the Jaguar I-TYPE 1, through to its most successful competitor, the Jaguar I-TYPE 7, the team's Formula E race cars have built strong equity in the I-TYPE name.

For the GEN4 era, the naming convention evolves to I-Type 08, introducing a sentence-case "Type" and an added leading zero – the change to reflect the recently revealed Jaguar Type 01.

The Jaguar I-Type 08 will be revealed on Tuesday, 10 November and will debut publicly at Formula E's official pre-season testing in Madrid at Circuito de Madrid Jarama from Monday 16-Friday 20 November 2026.
