Opel played a starring role at this year's Brussels Motor Show, with a major world premiere. The new Opel Zafira Life was revealed by Xavier Duchemin, Managing Director: Sales, After-sales, and Marketing. The Zafira Life is a fun-to-drive as well as a comfortable multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and will debut in, Southern Africa, in the first quarter of 2020, while the much anticipated, Award-Winning Opel Combo Life people-mover has just made its appearance in the Southern African Opel Dealership network. Voted as 'Best Buy Car Europe 2019' at AUTOBEST 2019 by a jury of 31 specialist journalists from 31 countries, it was voiced that no rival vehicle offers as much car for the money as the Combo Life!

Viewed from the outside, the new Opel Combo Life MPV has body-colored front and rear bumpers, body-colored outside door handles and side mirror housing, sliding door with tilt-able window, sliding door with fixed window, tailgate with window and protective side-molding and offers considerable versatility.

The 7" Touchscreen IntelliLink Infotainment System affords conversation and sound at your fingertips with easy connectivity to modern-day devices. Speed-sensitive power steering with tilt and telescopic adjustment, plus steering wheel audio controls and cruise control, allow you to keep your eyes on the road in your preferred seating position, in a height-adjustable driver seat with the comfort of lumbar support. Left- and right-sliding rear doors and a tailgate with a window, affording easy access for passengers as well as goods, thanks to the 60/40-split rear seats which enable a load of up to 690 kg when flattened forward.

In terms of safety, standard equipment includes 6 Airbags, ABS, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Traction Control and Hill-Start Assist. Also standard are front and rear brake discs, high-level stop-lamp, electronic child lock on rear doors, remote-controlled central locking, anti-theft immobilizer, halogen headlamps with automatic on/off headlamp control.

The Opel Combo Life is powered by a 1.6 Turbo Diesel Engine developing 68 KW of power at 4 000 RPM and 230 NM of torque at 1 700 RPM with drive sent to the front wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Fuel Consumption in the combined cycle is given as 5l / 100 km which seems pretty good. It has a towing capacity of 1 100 kg braked and 720 kg unbraked.

The introduction of the Combo Life complements the existing Opel range in South Africa, offering a vehicle between the conventional Passenger and the SUV, with added functionality to suit this market. Opel's high specification offerings and commitment to produce vehicles that are accessible to many more prospective vehicle owners once again reflects on the Combo Life. With no extra costs for additional features, the customer knows that the price they see is the price they pay.

Present Opel models available in South Africa include; the Adam, Corsa, Astra, Crossland X with the newly introduced Turbo Diesel option, Mokka X, Grandland X, Combo Cargo, and now also the Combo Life as from August 2019. The Zafira Life model rounds off the people-mover range early in 2020.

As 'Best Buy Car of Europe 2019', the Combo Life continues a strong Opel tradition. In recent years the Rüsselsheim-based carmaker was twice successful in the AUTOBEST Award. The Opel Corsa took the title outright in 2007 and 2015. AUTOBEST presents the 'Best Buy Car of Europe' since 2000.

The recommended retail selling price for the new Opel Combo Life is R 369 900.The price includes a 3 Years / 60 000 km Service Plan, with service Intervals every 12 Months or 15 000 km.
